STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics; A STEM Fair is similar to a science fair, but it showcases the connection between science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. It is an opportunity for students to explore scientific phenomena and engineering design. All projects must have a testable question and involve gathering data to answer that question.

The week before mid-winter break, all classes will have a chance to meet professionals that have made their love for science into a career.  Our scientific guests will present what sparked their interest that led them into science.  Students will have a chance to ask questions and to get answers to things they have always wondered about.

There will also be a social event to get the parents excited about the STEM fair and give them the tools to support their children in working on their projects.  At the STEM fair, all the projects that students worked on in class, with friends, or independently will be on display. We even welcome and challenge the entire family to create projects to earn stamps in a STEM fair passport, earn prizes and be entered in the drawing for our grand prize.

Students, if you want to get started early, visit last year's STEM website for project ideas.
