Buy Scrip Cards

The program that lets you raise money for Whittier while doing your normal, everyday shopping.

What is Scrip?

Merchants sell us gift cards for a reduced rate, which we then sell to Whittier friends and families for face value, keeping the difference as our profit. For example, the PTA pays $95 for each $100 Fred Meyer/QFC card. When you buy it for $100 you use the full value but we keep the $5 difference. It’s the merchant making the donation!

How to Purchase Scrip

In the Lobby
Purchase gift cards directly in the Whittier lobby before and after school on Fridays. (Selection limited to cards on hand (can include Barnes & Noble, Amazon, iTunes, Starbucks, Majestic Bay).

Via KidMail
Scrip card order forms are sent home via KidMail on the first and third Monday of every month and must be returned that Friday. Checks should be made out to Whittier PTA.

  1. Follow the prompts and be sure to sign up for Presto Pay for purchases. We will no longer be taking checks for scrip cards.

  2. Wait to order any scrip cards until your Presto Pay account is complete. This can take a few days for bank account verification to occur.

  3. Then, start placing your orders online! Orders will be submitted as a group to save on shipping costs every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month – hopefully more often as the holidays approach if we have a great response. There is a one-week turn around from the date the group order is placed.

Frequently Asked Questions about Online Ordering

How long will it take to get my cards?

About a week from when the order is placed on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month. This will require a bit more planning ahead. But, just think, you can shop at your leisure!

How will I get my cards?

They will be sent home via Kidmail, unless you let the coordinator know differently and then other arrangements may be made.

Is there a fee to order online?

Yes, there is a fee of  $0.15 cents per transaction per family. Less than a stamp! It pays to buy in bulk.

Do they have a variety of choices online?

Hundreds of choices! In addition, many cards purchased through the scrip website are now re-loadable and available instantly without waiting for a group order. Many more are available instantly online without waiting for a physical card. You are issued a redemption code to use instantly or to print out for later.

What's the easiest way to impact my school?

Once you are registered it is very simple. Consider stocking your wallet with just Safeway or QFC/Fred Meyer cards for gas and groceries. We make most of our money on these everyday use cards. This alone will significantly increase our profit for our PTA programs.
