    Afternoon Programs Held at Whittier

    Whittier partners with Seattle Parks and Recreation and local businesses to offer students a variety of after school classes held in the Whittier Elementary building.  These programs are brought to Whittier by the PTA: 

    Seattle Parks and Recreation

    Whittier Elementary will be hosting Loyal Heights Enrichment Programming on Mondays and Tuesdays at Whittier Elementary. Programming will begin on September 11Register now for after school classes atSeattle Park and Recreation (SPARC).

    Language Links

    Spanish Class:  Language Links is offering after school enrichment classes for K to 5th graders on Mondays and Fridays from 2:30 to 3:30 starting 10/16 to register for the classes email

    This is a fun and energetic full immersion class. By the end of this school year, these students will, at a minimum, be able to understand familiar words and basic phrases and follow commands. They can also use short learned phrases about themselves, their families and their surroundings. This is a pre-literacy class. Students are advancing to answering questions about topics that are familiar to them and are beginning to use the language more spontaneously.


    Chess Class: Chess4Life is an after-school program that teaches life skills through the game of chess.  All grades (K to 5th) and skill levels are welcome.  Lessons will be tailored to the students' knowledge.

    Classes are on Wednesday from 1:15 to 2:15 PM  (5 min buffer after bell rings) and start on 10/25 to 12/13, no class on 11/23 Thanksgiving week.

    Wildcat Recreation with Mr. Pule

    Mr. Pule will offer after-school recreation programs during the 2017-2018 school year. Fall session begin during the week of Sept. 18. Information and registration forms can be found here.
