    Posted on 10/02/2019
a student walk to schoolLet’s seriously decrease the number of Wildcats driven to school by private vehicle! On October 2nd, millions of students around the world will celebrate International Walk to School Day. This year Whittier Elementary families are turning an event into a habit by pledging to walk or bike all month long and beyond... and we want you to join us!

Incentives for those Wildcats who track their Walk and Wheel commutes for the month of October.
    • 7+ commutes one (1) chain token
    • 15+ commutes two (2) chain tokens

Every kid will receive a Walk and Wheel Month calendar. Simply mark if you walked, biked or wheeled to school roundtrip for each day in October! Walks to the bus stop count, as do trips using skateboards, scooters and unicycles. Even those who need to be car-dropped , there is a “park and walk” option! (park and walk at least 1/4 mile (approx. 2-4 blocks). Tally your trips and turn the calendar in by November 4th to the box outside the gym.
