    Good Evening Whittier Families,

I am looking forward to another great week with the Whittier Wildcats.  It looks like it is going to be a wet week.  Please throw in some clothing that is appropriate for recess in the rain.  If it is pouring during morning drop off or recess we will make adjustments.

Rainy morning line-ups: Cafeteria is open for breakfast at 7:35.

    • Rainy Days K-2 kids will meet their teachers in the cafeteria at 7:50 AM.
    • 3- 5 students will meet their teachers in the classroom at 7:50

I want to thank the PTA for supporting the many outstanding field trips and programs that happen at Whittier.    I also want to thank the parents who helped with popcorn Friday.  We hope students will continue to be respectful, safe and responsible at lunch - this Friday we are working towards a "Free Sit Friday".  If we have a great week at lunch - students can choose to sit with their friends this Friday - Free sit Friday!

The virtue for December is mindfulnessStudent friendly definition: Mindfulness is awareness; it is noticing your thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations and surroundings.  Learn more about mindfulness by checking out Richard Burnett's Ted Talk.  You might also try to create a glitter jar as a strategy for calming down at your house.
