Release of Students During an Emergency

In the event of an emergency, students will only be released to persons named on their emergency forms. Each child must have a current contact number recorded in the office by the end of the first week of school or upon entry to Whittier.  This requirement provides protection for your child.  Any changes should be updated with the office as soon as the change is made.

Emergency Messages to Your Child and Emergency Telephone Calls

In emergency situations, messages will be immediately communicated to your child.  In an emergency, students will be allowed to use an office phone but students may not use cell phones during the school day. We do our best, but cannot guarantee messages being delivered to classrooms toward the end of the day.  Emergency messages for teachers will be communicated and calls will be returned at teacher’s earliest convenience.
